To create the alternate versions of my resume, I used a set of specific prompts that helped the AI understand what I wanted. My main prompt asked the AI to rewrite my resume for the marketing field while focusing on communication, customer service, teamwork, and problem solving. I followed up with simple instructions such as make the tone professional or highlight skills that relate to customer experience. These extra details helped the AI shape the resume toward what employers in that field usually look for.
When I compared the new versions to my original resume, I noticed several changes. The original focused mostly on safety, emergency response, and lifeguard responsibilities. The AI versions shifted the attention toward transferable strengths such as communication, decision making, and interacting with guests. It also reworded my projects so they fit better with teamwork and community outreach.
This process taught me that prompt engineering works best when the instructions are clear and detailed. The more information I provided, the better the results were. I learned that AI can be a helpful tool for adjusting content so it fits the expectations of different fields or audiences.
